ICP Adhesives & Sealants’ industry leadership and dedication to Innovations that Improve continues to gain recognition, with the receipt of a Best of Presentation award for Dr. Andrew Shinko, R&D Chemist.

The Center for the Polyurethanes Industry of the American Chemistry Council awarded Dr. Shinko the Best of Presentation in the Blowing Agents session for his presentation, “The Use of HFO-1234 ze (E) in Low Pressure Spray Polyurethane Foam” at the 2016 Polyurethanes Technical Conference. The annual conference that brings together the brightest minds in emerging polyurethanes technology is the longest-running polyurethanes conference in North America.

Dr. Shinko presented ICP Adhesives & Sealants’ work that represents significant advances in the development of low global warming potential (LGWP) products, in accordance with the EPA’s recent SNAP 21 ruling.

The HandiFoam High Density product will be the first commercially available low-pressure two- component polyurethane spray foam disposable kit containing a hydrofluoroolefin (Solstice® GBA) as a blowing agent.  This innovation ushers in a new standard for spray foam systems and meets the environmental well-being of our changing world.

This breakthrough product will be commercially available in the first quarter of 2017.
